There was a tragedy at the home of a 58-year-old police officer when his two daughters found him dead after a suspected suicide in Nakuru Town.

Constable Samuel Maina Muriuki was attached to Nakuru Central police station when he was found dead on Wednesday, May 8.

He failed to report to work and wake up as usual prompting his two daughters aged 16 and 12 to check on him.

The two girls stayed with him in Mzee Wanyama Paradise area.

Their mother was not home at the time of the incident.

The girls reported to Mwariki police station they had stumbled on the body of their father.

The body was found hanging on a sisal, police said.

Police visited the scene and picked up the body to the mortuary.

Police said they are investigating the incident.

The motive is yet to be revealed for now, police said.
