The battle for the Narok town ward MCA seat is slowly heating up with more aspirants joining the race.

The seat fell vacant following the death of former MCA Lucas Kudate in February.

Kudate who was elected on ODM party ticket passed away in February after a battle with cancer.

Entrust Pioneer Party (EPP) is the latest political outfit to declare its intention to field a candidate in the race.

While making the announcement, the party said it has grown big and ready to challenge popular parties in the race for what it termed as good leadership.

“We are waiting for the commissioners of the electoral body to be put in place so that we can hit the ground campaigning aggressively for our candidate to win the poll,” EPP Narok co-ordinatorLemaiyan Seleina said.

Seleina who spoke when he received new members in the Narok town said they are waiting for IEBC to set the date to begin the campaigns.

He added that apart from Narok polls, they will also make their presence in other regions, daring the ‘big’ parties to prepare for a bruising battle.

“We are no longer a small party as perceived by people, we will make our presence to be felt in all the counties because many Kenyans are embracing it as its leadership is different and development-oriented,” he said.

IEBC is yet to be constituted after its chairperson Wafula Chebukati  and two other commissioners - Molu and Abdi Guliye retired in January.

Four other commissioners-Juliana Cherera, Irene Masit, Francis Wanderi and Justus Nyang'aya quit after rejecting President William Ruto's 2022 votes.

At the same time, Seleina urged Kenyans to support the party noting it is the only outfit with a transformative agenda which seeks to better their lives.

“We have put the structures and sustainable efforts at promoting good governance and accountability,” he said.

“This party belongs to Kenyans and its leadership style is bestowed among democratic and visionary leadership, it has room for all the people regardless of tribe, age, races or religious background,” Seleina added.
