Classic 105 Radio presenter Larry Asego shone at the premiere of Heartstrings Kenya comedy night the Hot Seat on Saturday at the Alliance Francaise gardens. He gave a solo witty and hilarious performance that highlighted some of the recent happenings in the country. The 95 minute presentation was a reflection on Kenyans in the recent times.

Filled to the capacity, Asego had his audience laughing as they reflected on some crazy things Kenyans like doing and end up blaming themselves for not being wiser. Larry used rich literature with some stylistic devises like symbolism, imagery and metaphor to spice up his show. The ‘Hot Seat’ show  the first of its kind in Kenya, will be showing every month. The troupe says it will revolve around local issues Kenyans encounter but hilariously put on stage by our very known stand-up comedians.

According to Heartstrings Kenya directors Sammy Mwangi and Victor Ber, the new concept hosted by comedian Dan Ndambuki aka ‘Churchill’ is geared towards appreciating our own Kenyanism through talented comedians. “We want Kenyans to appreciate the way they do their businesses or say things that ultimately reflects on their own actions. It’s through a comedy of this nature that we will be able to correct some mistakes and move forward as Kenyans by resolving our own problems”, said Mwangi. In the upcoming monthly shows, comedians Eric Omondi, Felix Odiwuor aka Jalang’o and Churchill will each be performing on stage to complement Heartstrings Kenya as the masters of comedy and stage performance in the country.
