The man who is suspected to be the driver of the car that hit and killed singer Stella Mwangi’s father was caught on Thursday and formally charged for the crime. According to Norway newspaper, The Foreigner, the 39-year-old man has been indicted for manslaughter in connection with the hit-and-run death of Jeff Mwangi Kwirikia, 54.
Jeff died instantly after being run down by what is believed to be a dark-coloured van on a road in Dal in Ullensaker municipality, Tuesday. Police report they have reasonable ground to suspect the man, who turned himself in, was the driver though this has not yet been confirmed. Officers are at the scene examining the van after he showed them where it is parked.
The Mayor of Ullensaker Harald Espelund in Norway expressed his sorrow regarding the death of Stella’s dad. “His death has affected our lives since we found out yesterday. The deceased was a municipal employee in one of our schools. It is always sad when someone loses his life, especially in traffic accidents when things happen incredibly quickly”, he told NRK.
