Father of Kenyan rapper Stella Mwangi, who is based in Norway died on Tuesday after a fatal hit and run accident. Stella’s record label, EMI, confirmed the identity of the victim in a statement on Wednesday. Jeff Mwangi Kwirikia, 54, died from his injuries after he was run over in Norway and the who driver fled the scene is yet to be identified and apprehended. Police described the vehicle as a black or dark-coloured car, likely a Citroen Berlingo or a Peugeot Partner. They added, the car had most likely been taken off the road and hidden from sight after the accident.
Tim Adeka, Stella’s manager in Nairobi told Word Is, “The family is protective of Stella at this time, mainly because the dad was a big part of her life. They just want people to respect this and let them mourn.” Jeff moved with his family to Norway in 1991.
