The send-off of our fallen hero  Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla allowed Defence CS Aden Duale to clarify an event that threatened to leave a dent on the late CDF's legacy.

The eulogy that laid to rest once and for all, the issue of General Ogolla's presence at Bomas during the last General elections.

According to Duale, the late General was at Bomas on instructions of his bosses.

Ogolla showed him text messages which were sent by a senior member of the National Security Council (NSC).

He promptly replied by asking what his role was as a soldier being sent to Bomas and was told that those were the orders from above.

"It was at this point that the late General sent another message informing his bosses that he needed to return as he had no other business but he was told to stay put", Duale said.

Duale also revealed that he'd a tet-a-tet with General Ogolla at his house - which he said can be confirmed by the late General's security and driver - where Ogolla confessed that the issue had affected him on a personal level to the extent of losing weight.

From what we've read, heard and seen regarding the late Ogolla, his character and faith could not allow him to stoop that low as to interfere with the last elections.

Duale went further to claim that those who'd sent the late General Ogolla to Bomas were present at the burial.

Duale told leaders to stop creating false narratives about Ogolla noting he was an honest man.

In his tribute, he described him as a man of humility and the finest officer who has trained many pilots.

It was an apt speech that may have moved many viewers to tears and which finally allowed the gallant soldier to rest in peace.

I also personally felt that Hon. Duale's speech has laid to rest the Bomas issue once and for all.

My clarion call, is to beg our leaders not to use issues, happenstance and events to divide Kenyans.

Let not the passing of General Ogolla be in vain. Let it be the one event that will unite Kenyans.

I know Gen. Omondi Ogolla would have wanted that.

Rest in Eternal Peace General.
