The meeting is set to take place at his official residence in Karen and will commence from 7 am.

World Haemophilia Day

Kenyatta National Hospital in partnership with the Kenya Haemophilia Association (KHA) and Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) will on Wednesday mark World Haemophilia Day with a commemorative event.

The event will commence at 8:00 am at the KNH Administration Block car park area.

The third National Wage Bill Conference

The Third National Wage Bill Conference will on Wednesday come to an end.

It had been slated for April 15 to 17 at the Bomas of Kenya under the theme “Towards 35 per cent."

The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) jointly convenes the Third National Wage Bill Conference (NWBC) to provide a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns, as well as practical challenges encountered, and solutions adopted in the public wage bill sustainability through productivity improvement.

During the 10th Ordinary Session of the National and County Governments Coordinating Summit meeting held at State House, Nairobi on December 18, 2023, under the Chairmanship of President William Ruto, the Summit resolved (Resolution 15) that SRC, jointly with the Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee (IGRTC) and Council of Governors (COG), should convene the NWBC, 2024.

Further, the resolution states that the national government committed to reducing its wage bill to 35 per cent of revenue in line with the provisions of the Public Finance Management Act (PFM), 2012, by 2028 and urged the county governments to align.

The Green Jobs for Youth Pact round table.

The Green Jobs for Youth Pact, a collaborative initiative by the International Labour Organization (ILO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) along with Jacob’s Ladder Africa (JLA) are hosting a round table.

The roundtable on Wednesday will take place from 6:30 am to 9:30 am at the JW Marriott.

Case on doctors’strike.

The case on the doctors' strike will on Wednesday come up before the Milimani labour court for confirmation on the status of talks.

Employment and Labour Relations Judge Byrum Ongaya will also be notified on whether the state and doctors have settled.

Ongaya had on April 3, extended the orders suspending the doctors' strike to allow for negotiations and agreement on essential services that should continue in the event of a strike.

UNFPA’s report

UNFPA’s State of World Population 2024 report will be launched on Wednesday.

The report is themed; "Interwoven Lives, Threads of Hope: Ending inequalities in sexual and reproductive health and rights."
