The Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy has invited all media editors to a breakfast briefing on the upcoming Connected Africa Summit 2024.

The event will take place on Monday, April 15, 2024 at The Sarova Stanley Hotel, Nairobi from 7 am.

The Connected Africa Summit 2024, which will be held at the iconic Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi from April 21-25, 2024, serves as a strategic forum to chart a course towards a digitally empowered and interconnected future for Africa, setting the stage for unprecedented growth and prosperity as well.

According to the ministry, the event will bring together African Heads of state, Ministers of ICT, public and private sector representatives, Big Tech partners, academia, foreign missions, development partners, sponsors, delegates and thought leaders to have a comprehensive and inclusive dialogue on accelerating digital connectivity, unlocking investment opportunities, foster collaboration and exchange knowledge.

Topics on the agenda will include the Future of Work, Cybersecurity,Artificial Intelligence, emerging technologies and the growth of the Digital Economy.

Detective Jane Mugo's case

Court to give directions today in a case in which Private Investigator Jane Mugoh is pursuing a missing child case across borders.

Mugoh filed the case at the Milimani Law Courts last month, seeking to have the Director of Immigration Services-Kenya compelled to issue a travel alert on the woman.

She also sought an order that the Director provide passport information and the travel history of the woman to enable her to effect service of the petition.

According to the court documents, the woman was married to a Norway citizen.

They were blessed with one child but they separated in 2017 in a court of law of Norway.

The court subsequently ordered the child to be under the custody of the mother.

It also allowed the father monthly visitation.

Kipevu fuel jet

Court to mention the case in which business tycoon Yagnesh Mohanlal Devani is allegedly accused of taking illegal possession of jet fuel worth Ksh1.5 billion through his Triton Petroleum Company Limited.

Doctor's strike 

On the ongoing doctor strike which is now entering more than a month, Dagoreti North MP Beatrice Elachi has urged the government to be smart and meet doctors halfway in their set of demands to end the impasse.

Trump’s first criminal trial to begin in New York.

Donald Trump will today present himself in a New York courthouse and become the first former US president to stand trial in a criminal case.

He is accused of falsifying his business records to disguise a hush-money payment made to Stormy Daniels, a former adult film star, shortly before the 2016 election.
