Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 35-year-old man in a confrontation over a woman in the Kasarani area, Nairobi.
The incident happened on Saturday in the Wonderland area and involved men who had left a bar, police said.
Two men and a lady known to them had been drinking at a bar and had left headed home when they met a man only known to them as Fredrick who is the deceased now.
The woman is believed to be the girlfriend of the deceased.
According to police, the deceased tried to inquire what the woman was doing with the men prompting a confrontation.
It was then that one of the men in the company of the woman removed a penknife from his jacket stabbed Fredrick in the neck and immediately ran away with the lady.
The victim attempted to run after him but he fell a few metres ahead and succumbed to the injuries, witnesses told police.
Police were called to the scene and picked up the body to the mortuary pending autopsy.
The hunt on the assailant is ongoing, police handling the matter said.
Meanwhile, a guard at the Magana Flowers in Kikuyu, Kiambu County was found murdered following a robbery incident.
The body of Frederick Mochabo Masereti, 50 was found lying in a trench with deep cuts in the head.
It is suspected he was attacked and killed by thugs who had raided the farm on Saturday night.
Police who visited the scene said they found a freshly dug trench of about six meters leading to a nearby powerhouse where a copper cable wire was plucked.
It is not clear what was targeted at the farm. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe.
No arrest has been made so far and efforts to trace the killers are ongoing, police said.
And in Kasagem, Kisumu, one Shelton Ochieng, 20 was stabbed and killed by unknown people.
His body with stab wounds in the chest and stomach was found within the Kasule area on Saturday.
Police moved the body to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe into the murder.
The motive of the murder is yet to be known, police said.
