Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested two individuals suspected of fatally stabbing a man in Nairobi.

The incident, as per the DCI statement, occurred in Baba Dogo on March 7, 2024.

According to the DCI, it is believed that the altercation between the three men led to one of them allegedly stabbing the victim while they were walking along the road.

"Investigations have revealed that the trio were walking in the same direction and after a disagreement, one of them drew a knife and stabbed the other on the left side of the chest," the police report said.

"The victim who sustained a deep cut on the left side of the chest succumbed to the injuries while receiving treatment at Baba Dogo health facility," the DCI said.

The two suspects then fled the scene after the heinous act.

After days of investigations and search, the two were arrested hiding in Dandora.

The DCI stated that the two individuals are allegedly connected to a series of criminal activities reported in Baba Dogo, Huruma, and Lucky Summer estates.

They were apprehended in a collaborative operation involving detectives from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau of Nairobi region, DCI Starehe, and General duty officers.

The police have recently escalated their efforts to combat various criminal activities in the city, such as muggings and phone snatching.

Just two weeks ago, at least two individuals lost their lives in separate criminal incidents in Nairobi.

In the first incident reported to police, the body of one Tobias Oyo, 45 was found on the roadside with visible stab wounds on the head and both sides of his chest in Huruma, Nairobi.

Oyo had left his house at 5 am to work when he was confronted by four men armed with knives and crude weapons.

According to police, the gang was on a robbery spree targeting pedestrians headed for work.

It is suspected the man resisted their orders prompting them to stab him.

The gang robbed him of his mobile phone before stabbing him to death.

Police who visited the scene said they found Sh2,300 intact in the deceased’s trousers.

In the Mwiki area, the body of an unidentified man was found dumped in a quarry after the murder.

A rider found the body dumped near the quarry along Mwiki Infinity Road.

Police said they found the body with multiple injuries on the head and preliminary investigations indicate that, the deceased could have been killed elsewhere before being dumped at the scene.
