KISUMU East acting DC Willy Cheboi has officially taken over an office formerly occupied by county commissioner Lorna Odero. This follows a meeting between area MP Shakeel Shabeer with Nyanza PC Francis Mutie which resolved that Cheboi, who is DO 1 moves to the office. “The acting DC could not effectively deliver services of a DC from the small DO's office and this is why we decided to request the PC to allow him operate from the main office,” said Shabeer. He said DC's office from where Odero was operating became vacant after the High Court quashed the appointment of county commissioners.  Cheboi confirmed that he had received formal communication from the PC to take over the office. Before Odero was deployed to Kisumu as a county commissioner, the office was occupied by former DC Mabeya Mogaka, who was moved to the Office of the President.
