10 more MTCs on the way
Enthusiasts of nursing may soon get more opportunities to build their careers. The government is planning to build more medical training colleges to expand the yearly admission of students studying nursing. Deputy registrar in charge of Kenya Medical Training Colleges John Anyira yesterday said about 10 institutions will be opened in various parts of the county to add up to the current 30.
Anyira said two new colleges which have met the requirements to become MTCs will admit their fist students in September. He said the two in Bondo and Makueni have been approved to start training nurses. "Our team of quality assurance have been to the two institutions and have shown their commitment by putting in place all the requirements that are needed to start a medical training college," he said.
