The PNU wing of the coalition government now wants the International Criminal Court  to order a fresh investigation into the post-election violence cases following claims by Miguna Miguna in his book he has new information. Justice and Constitutional Affairs minister Eugene Wamalwa is on Sunday expected to issue a statement and demand among other things that ICC order fresh investigations into the Kenyan case.

According to sources close to the minister, Wamalwa will also call for fresh investigations into claims that some officials at the Prime Minister’s office could have been involved in economic crimes as alleged by Raila Odinga’s former aide in his book “Pealing Back the Mask, a quest for Justice in Kenya.” Also to be addressed by  the minister are claims in the book that the PM has been exercising nepotism by having several of his family members get plum jobs in government.

The sources told the Star that the minister believes the matter is also under his jurisdiction as it touches on integrity enshrined in Chapter six of the constitution. The PNU wing is also planning to hype the campaign that Raila is not a reformist as he has been claiming. The group says the allegations contained in the book where Miguna claims Raila is not a reformer should not be taken lightly especially now that Kenyans are preparing to elect a new President to succeed Mwai Kibaki.
