Kiyiapi blasts IEBC for delay in hiring clerks

Restore and Build Kenya presidential aspirant James Kiyiapi yesterday said that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission is incompetent.

Kiyiapi said the commission has failed to recruit clerks to conduct the voter registration exercise even after the government purchased the biomertric voter registration kits for it.

Speaking in Kisii during a campaign rally, Kibaki termed the delay as sabotage and intentional. He said that the coming election must meet the international standards and called on the commission to "wake up and rectify their mess". “A few months are remaining to the election yet IEBC has not put its house in order," Kiyiapi said.
