Ex-mayor’s kiosk flattened

Former Kisumu mayor Raphael Agayi's food kiosk has been demolished by council authorities. He said he received a verbal notice from an official at the council yet Mayor Sam Okello had told him no demolition would take place. Nominated councilor George Weda reiterated that they had not agreed to any demolition. “This is unfortunate since the council has been advocating for local investors." Weda revealed that the demolitions only target particular individuals. Another businessman Lukas Nyamboga whose food kiosk was also demolished said he received no notice from the council. He said more than 14 employees working at the business premise have since lost their jobs.
