Last Wednesday saw Nairobi’s hospitality fraternity congregate at Sankara Nairobi for the monthly Skal’s networking luncheon. Speaking to the members, the Skal’s President Tonney Muiruri thanked the Minister for Tourism Danson Mwazo for appointing some of its members to serve in the industry’s corporate bodies.

He also announced that Kenya is bidding to host the Skal World Congress 2015 in Mombasa. There are over 600 delegates expected to attend this International annual event if the bid goes through. The bidding team will leave for Skal Korea in October to commence the process.

Those who attended the event were some of those recently appointed by the minister and included Gerald Misumi and Lucy Macridis to the board of Kenya Utalii College, Martin Dunford to the board of KTB as well as a friend of Skal the new chair of Kenya Tourism Development Corporation Caroline Mutoko .
