A Kenyan man was on Sunday murdered in Uganda and his body dumped in a maize plantation, 100 metres from River Lwakhakha in Tororo. According to Michael Odeke, a human rights activist, Joseph Wekesa was hit on the head with a blunt object and the back of his neck. The deceased son Eliud Wekesa, who was last seen with him, was arrested by Uganda police and taken to Lwakhakha Police station to help in investigations.

A postmortem examination was conducted at the scene and the body released to the man's family. Odeke said Wekesa and his son left Kong’ololo village at 7pm on Saturday for a drinking spree in Uganda. Eliud returned home alone that same night. The matter was reported to Moding police station. Sources said Eliud will be handed over to Kenyan authorities today.
