KENYANS yesterday joined Ugandans in mourning the death of veteran player and coach, David Otti who collapsed and died. Otti is remembered in Kenya for coaching professional side, Volcano United and Premier League side, Gor Mahia FC. Joe Kadenge, who played against Otti during the Gossage Cup in 1960s, said the region has lost the greatest footballer who propelled Uganda football to greater heights. Kadenge appealed to leaders in the region to honour players, who have brought honours to their countries. Kadenge recalled with nostalgia their stint with the then Kenya professional side, Volcano where Otti was the coach and him (Kadenge) team manager. Former KFF treasurer, Taib Koor, said death had robbed Ugandans of a man whose contribution to the development of the sport in the Uganda was immense. “I am happy he has left a legacy in football,” he said.
