A Kitale-based organisation will in partnership with the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce train Trans Nzoia residents on business planning. Kitale Wealth Creation chief executive officer Audrey Williams said the organisation target to train at least 25 per cent of the residents to equip them with business skills.“Trans Nzoia is one of the richest counties and we are committed to training the people, especially the youth to ensure their wealth benefits the locals," she said.

She said once trained, area residents will be able to access loans either as individuals or groups from financial institutions to start and improve various businesses. Williams said the 16-hour training will is Sh2, 000 per person. “We want our youth to become job creators and not job seekers," she said. Trans Nzoia Chamber of Commerce CEO Martin Waliaula welcomed initiative saying it will unlock the county's business potential.
