Man sentenced to life for defiling daughter

A Kericho court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment after he was found guilty of defiling his seven-year old daughter. Richard Kipkoech appeared before Kericho senior resident magistrate Joseph Nduriri. He committed the offense at Kaplaba village in Kipkelion on January 30. The prosecution told the court that Kipkoech came home drunk and picked a fight with his wife.

After quarreling, he grabbed his daughter and raped her. The next day, his wife took the girl to Kipkelion District Hospital where she was treated and a P3 form was issued. Kipkoech was arrested and charged with the offense at Kipkelion Police Station. A P3 Form tabled before the court as an exhibit revealed that the girl was indeed raped.
