Kyle Lucas goes for jugular at Autocross 7 this weekend
Following the postponement of Autocross 6 to October 20-21, Sunday’s round 7 at Jamhuri Park could be very key in deciding the winner for this season’s series. Front runner Kyle Lucas is currently plotting to hold off Charles Mugo in a bid to win his first Championship. Samir Khan (buggy) and Ben Muchemi (Evo VII rally car) are third and fourth respectively.
Samir, who was tipped for the title this season, has seen the title slip through his fingers, with Muchemi taking pole position in the first two rounds after garnering two bonus points by posting Fastest Time of the Day (FTD) in both outings. Muchemi, however, lost this advantage by not participating in the next two rounds in Migaa and Mombasa, and on his return lost his ‘podium finishing ways’ to new entrant Jazz Nandra, who came in with his No. 7 buggy that set blistering times.
The 2011 champion Keith Henrie only took part in the first outing and has not been seen since though he says he experienced engine failure in Migaa. He promises to be back for this round. Charles Mugo, is in the running for his second Junior title with a whooping gap of 24 points after winning the 2011 title.
