Look after your families, DC tells men in Laikipia
Laikipia North DC Paul Kinyanjui has advised men to take care of their families. Speaking when opening a cultural centre at Ilpolei trading centre, Kinyanjui said most men in the area sell their livestock and spend the money with women in Nanyuki town and neglect their children.
“Why would you sell a cow and go to spend the earn-ings with women, some 70 kilometres away in another district? You should ensure the money circulates in this area to boost the economy,” said the administrator.
He criticised local leaders ‘‘for holding meetings in big hotels in Nanyuki town while there are such facilities in Doldol and other areas in the district. Kinyanjui’s sentiments were echoed by former National Assembly Speaker Francis ole Kaparo.
