Court bars new NGOs officials

The High Court has barred a new group of officials from taking over the leadership of the NGO Council. Justice Thuranira Jaden issued a temporary injunction restraining four officials who claim to have been elected during controversial elections held at the Kasarani Sports Complex on June 20.

Among those barred include Violent Okinda, who was elected chairman, former Juja MP Stephen Ndichu, who claims to be vice chairman, and members Kevin Loyatum and David Njuguna. The group claimed to have ousted another team led by Eldoret-based human rights activist Ken Wafula, which was elected to office two years ago.
