Women fault election levy

WOMEN have protested the new draft election regulations requiring those seeking election to Parliament to pay a non-refundable nomination fee of Sh500,000 to the electoral commission. Yesterday the Kisumu County Orange Women Democrat secretary Grace Akumu said the new draft is an obstacle to women aspiring to join national politics. Akumu urged MPs to reject the proposal once it is tabled in Parliament next week by Attorney General Githu Muigai terming it discriminative.
