Brace for Ndhiwa battle, ODM warned

A Kanu aspirant in the Ndhiwa by-election scheduled for September 17 has warned ODM to brace for a bruising battle. Tom Alila yesterday said he will give ODM "a run for its money" in the poll. “I will launch my campaign after being cleared on Tuesday or Wednesday by the IEBC and I want to warn ODM to prepare for a battle,” he said in Kisumu yesterday.

“This is a by election and anything can happen. ODM should not just assume that this is their seat. I’m ready to pull a surprise,” said Alila. Neto Oyugi is the ODM candidate while TNA nominated Rosemary Rumo. Oyugi has exuded confidence that he will capture the seat that fell vacant following the death of former area MP Orwa Ojode in a chopper crach in June.
