Mombasa Narc-K boss joins TNA
Presidential hopeful Martha Karua’s Narc-Kenya suffered a blow in Mombasa after its county chairman John Mburu defected to Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta’s The National Alliance. Mburu, who has since declared interest in the newly created Nyali constituency said he will seek the seat on a TNA ticket.
The move comes barely a week after national chair John Sakaja held a series of meetings with the party's Coast delegates before the opening of Mombasa county office last week. At the same time, TNA national organising secretary Patrick Birya has said the party has began a recruitment drive in the Coast region targeting youths who have just completed high school.
Brya was speaking at a function where the party donated foodstuff worth Sh30,000 to Muslims for the Eid celebrations. Mburu, who was speaking at Msikitini area, said he is now firmly in TNA and would drum up support for the DPM across the Coast. He urged the youths not to let themselves to be misused by politicians.
