Kalonzo Musyoka has said a new irrigation project in Mwingi will end famine in Ukambani. The Vice President said the region will no longer rely on relief food once the Wikithuki Co-operative Irrigation Scheme being established in his Mwingi North constituency is completed. He said the 5,000-acre irrigation scheme will make Ukambani one of Kenya's food basket. He urged Kitui county residents to take advantage of the project to produce more food.
