Award-winning international dancer Norah Chipaumire will be gracing the 5th edition of the Nairobi Festival Of Solos And Duets which will be going down from October 19-29. Norah has toured extensively throughout North America, Europe, and Africa, most recently performing in Bergamo, Italy, for the 2010 Takunda Prize, presented by Cesvi, an international humanitarian organisation.

She also won in 2008 New York Dance and Performance (aka "Bessie") Award for her choreographic work Chimurenga; and a 2007 New York Dance and Performance Award in the performance category for her work with Urban Bush Women where she also served as Associate Artistic Director.

The festival which has happened since 2007 is restricted to Kenyan companies due to fiscal and logistical issues. There also will be dancers from the East African states of Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Eastern Congo. Last year's edition had performances from international dance companies from Sweden, Corsica/France, Cyprus and Nigeria.
