There was a security scare at the Milimani law court yesterday morning when a man suspected to be member of Somalia’s Al Shabaab militia gang was caught hovering within the courts vicinity. The unidentified man of Somali origin was immediately arrested by court orderlies after he failed to explain his presence in the area.

The suspect who was caught pacing at the court’s parking lot could not speak English nor Kiswahili when he was asked to identify himself. And upon a search, the officers found that he did not have an identity card or any other documents to help them find out who he was. “I saw him pacing up and about, when i questioned him and I realized he could not express himself in Kiswahili or English.

I called my colleagues and he took his cell phone and called someone. We did not know who he was so we handed him over to the police for further interrogation, “said one officer. The officer said another man whom they suspect was with the unidentified man fled.
