Gospel artiste Samson Mwangi, popularly known as Ngaruiya Junior, last Sunday launched his seventh album dubbed Kigocho. Ngaruiya performed eight songs off the album backed by his King of Kigocho Ngaruiya Junior band at St Andrews PCEA Church in Nairobi. Ngaruiya, who is a former street boy and a criminal gang leader, said he was overwhelmed to have been transformed by God. He says his ministry is about encouraging behavior change among the youth. Ngaruiya has taken after his father who is a veteran gospel singer.
The 26-year-old is married to Grace Nyambura, a beauty therapist. The couple have a one-year-old daughter, Salome Wangari. Present during the launch was Loise Kim, Jane Muthoni, Siru wa GP, Dennis Mutara, Pastor Joice, Rosemary Njagi, Carol Wanjiru, Elijah Murugami, Charles King'ori and Solomon Ng'ang'a.
