The Mombasa Women Hall on Nyerere Avenue was a place to be over the
weekend as each guest arrived in style. In front was a well arranged
podium, surrounded by joyful
faces, with soothing live music and finger-licking food at the edges. The two love birds, KTN's Mohamed Ali
and Rukiya Noordin, exchanged their vows in a Swahili
wedding ceremony, which crowned what they have shared for years, causing a huge jam as guests thronged the venue.
Mohamed Ali is better known for his Jicho
Pevu investigative programme, which recently aired an expose on drug trafficking dubbed “Paruwanja
la Mihadarati”. The wedding was attended by among others KTN’s Namlanda Kizito, who represented the TV's crew, "Case
Files's” Denis Onsarigo, NTV's John Allan Namu, Calvin
Onsarigo of Radio Salam, Sadiq Shaban, Esther Ingolo
of Radio Maisha, Mate Tongola, and Rashid Abdhallah. “I'm happy that the time has come, we
love each other and we hope God will steer us forever,” said Ali. The couple will spend their
honeymoon outside the country.
