THE Kenya Wildlife Service wants a case by a former
director Evans Mukolwe who is seeking to be reinstated dismissed because the position
has been filled. In reply to Mukolwe's application, the KWS says the former KWS chief is engaging in “a game of chancel”. KWS through acting secretary
Thomas Ogola states in an affidavit that the new KWS director Julius
Kipngetich was appointed by President Mwai Kibaki on December 21 2004 and he is still in office.

Mukolwe has sued the Attorney General, KWS and the Permanent Secretary ministry of
Forestry and Wildlife for illegal sacking. He is also seeking Sh135 million being
salary and allowances from the time he was suspended. The AG is yet to respond
to the suit. He has been directed by  High Court Judge Weldon Korir to do so before May 9 when parties will go
back for hearing.
