Gospel singer Betty Bayo recently told Word Is that she got married in a “private wedding ceremony” to a “good man with a good heart”. The singer famed for monster hits like 11th Hour and Siyabonga said the decision to tie the knot in private was because “I don’t like the attention that comes with having public weddings”.
Betty refused to reveal who the man is but simply said he is “a man of God”. “The reason for keeping the nuptials secrets is because this year I have a number of projects I’m working on like my new album and a tour abroad. I did not want to have to deal with people knowing my personal business till I was prepared to reveal it," she said.
The Groove Awards nominee did not want to release the specifics of the wedding date, venue and the groom's identity but said, everyone that matters in her family was at the secret wedding and knew about it. The reason she has decided to talk about her “secret wedding” earlier than she had planned is because “people have been saying a lot of things about me. I wanted to quell the rumours.” And, no, she is not yet planning for baby number one, as yet.
