Mancini set to frustrate all Red Devils’ theorists

Manchester City Vs QPR
My Prediction: Citizens 4 – 1 QPR
All matches on the final day of the English Premier league will be played on Sunday at 5pm. This is the same every season so that no team has a psychological advantage over any other. This is Manchester City’s season to lose and I don’t believe they will put a single foot wrong given that they have not won the league since 1968. My general manager Martin Khafafa, a Manchester United fan who has now refused to give me a bottle of champagne as if it’s my fault that United are winning nothing this season, appears to have a theory though on why City will throw this game away. (I don’t believe even he believes this theory). Apparently because QPR are facing relegation and are managed by former City boss Mark Hughes, the few crucial players in the squad who were bought by Hughes might feel sorry for him and throw the game. He has this long explanation that only sounds like a dying horse’s last wish. The noisy neighbours haven’t tasted league victory in 42 years and they’re likely to throw the game so that Mark Hughes can avoid relegation. What a load of bollocks! City will play their hearts out and then hope that Bolton don’t beat Stoke and their dear Hughes survives, but never at their expense. The boys just need to keep their cool and the title is theirs. They have the pedigree and the upper hand and if they don’t win, then they have no one to blame but themselves!
Sunderland Vs Manchester United
My Prediction: The Black Cats 2-2 The Red Devils
Wouldn’t it be nice if Man City lost to QPR and then Sunderland beat United? Just a fun thought but I don’t truly believe that can happen. The Black Cats have been a disturbing side to play this season with odd victories and odd losses. Martin O’Neal has slipped in recent weeks compared to his clubs form when he took over earlier in the season. But the professor-look-a-like must have something up his sleeve for the last day of the season. Sunderland disciplined Arsenal this season in the FA Cup and they can discipline United. United know they must win and pray that things go wrong for City against QPR but they are already frustrated that this race isn’t in their hands. It doesn’t matter who is fit on a day like this, it depends on the will to succeed. I have a strong feeling that Sunderland might make life so easy for City and we won’t be counting goals by 7pm tomorrow.
West Brom Vs Arsenal
My prediction: West Brom 0 – 3 The Gunners
I really just want to laugh because Arsenal are jokers! We should have wrapped-up third spot by now but nooo, we wanted to leave it to the last day. Someone should tell Arsene Wenger that our luck will run out soon. Infact we’re lucky the season is ending because I think we have only one more lucky day on our hands. West Brom, just like Norwich last weekend, were fighting for absolutely nothing! But they just chose to spoil our party. Please West Brom, just chill out tomorrow. You have nothing to gain by winning so allow us to have an easy ride. That said: Wenger had better give the boys a serious talking to before the game. Again it doesn’t matter who is fit and who isn’t, it depends on the starting 11. The Ox had better start; and the players ability to focus for 90 minutes plus! Last weekend I could laugh about the prospect of Thursday night football, but after being given a life-line on Sunday, I wouldn’t laugh if that thought became reality tomorrow.
Tottenham Vs Fulham
My Prediction: Spurs 2-2 The Cottagers
Oh am I glad we aren’t in a derby on the final day of the season. With Arsenal’s lack of spirit we would not have held on to third spot. Spurs too have been having a very poor run and failed to get all three points against Villa last weekend. Despite having arguably the best squad in the EPL (I think only Man City rivals them player on player) they have failed to impress. Mathematically they can still get the third spot but Fulham are another hot and cold team. The Cottagers can beat you 3 – 0 on one day and then get beaten 3-0 by you the next. I don’t think this result will matter for Arsenal because the Gunners are securing third spot; but it may be important to win to ensure that fourth spot. Chelsea are losing the Champions League final to Bayern Munich so Spurs will not want Newcastle to overtake them. I’m seeing a London draw in a London derby. And since The Magpies will draw with Everton too, Spurs will play Champions League football next season.
Stoke Vs Bolton
My Prediction: Stoke 1 – 2 Bolton
Should I bother with this? I’m only touching on this game because one more team must join Wolves and Blackburn in oblivion. Bolton and QPR are the two teams who could find themselves going down and I actually believe that Owen Coyle may just survive. QPR are definitely losing to Man City but Bolton can beat Stoke. I remember Bolton were top of the league for two weeks at the start of the season following a 4 – 0 win somewhere; and I think they will show such desperate form in this game.
KPL Pick of the week
Sofapaka Vs AFC Leopards Wednesday 7pm
My Prediction: Batoto Ba Mungu 2 – 1 Ingwe
As I write this, Sofapaka are one point behind AFC Leopards in the standings but AFC play Sony today; while Sofapaka have a tie against Muhoroni Youth. So the points may have changed come Wednesday. Infact come Wednesday Sofapaka may be top already, who knows. Wednesday is the last match for the two teams to play before the midway break and I know Salim Ali wants to go into that break on top. AFC Leopards’ slide has been sad and I just wish the warring management can sort themselves out; and that coach Jan Koops can find a rotation of players that works; so that fatigued players can get some rest. I think Ingwe’s poor form is a combination of fatigue and lack of concentration and it’s unfortunate but it’s football. I actually see Batoto ba Mungu going top before the break, but AFC coming back strong after the June rest.
