Kenya Ladies XI beat Khalsa men’s side by 10-wickets during the Rift Valley T20 league at the Rift Valley Sports Club on Sunday.  Juju Ambani and Emily Ruto guided Kenya Ladies XI to victory after being set an easy target of 54 runs with the hosts having been dismissed for 53 runs. Khalsa inning started on a sour note when Ambani got the first wicket with scores at one and from there, they lost wickets at regular intervals with Mercy Adhiambo picking up three.

At one time, the home team was on 17 for 5 in 5 overs with Adhiambo and Belinda Maska having taken up the honours. Maska and Margaret Banja picked up two wickets each with young Jackline Atieno claiming the last wicket as Khalsa’s inning folded in ten overs. Ladies XI inning also started on a very bad note when Banja was bowled by Indraj Gunah for one with two on the board. But Ambani and Ruto, who was making a comeback in the team after a long absence made 52 for the second wicket as the two attacked Khalsa bowlers to win the match in nine overs. Ambani top scored with 22 off 23 balls with Ruto adding on 17 from 20 balls.
