A 40 year old man killed his wife and two children before taking his own life in Rodi Kopany, Homa Bay County. Maurice Okoth killed his wife Linda Achieng 28, and daughter Inviolata Anyango aged seven by slitting their throats.

Okoth strangled his one year old son before hanging himself using a rope in his house, a week after re-uniting with his family.

The daughter was a standard one pupil at a local private school. A somber mood engulfed the area as hundreds of people visited the home to view the bodies. Homa bay Police boss Francis Kumut said investigations to unravel the cause of the tragedy had commenced
