Cash boost for Nzoia youth
THE Youth Enterprise Fund has issued Sh300,000 to 16 youth groups in Trans Nzoia West district to help them start businesses. Area district youth officer Martin Mabonga said each of the groups has been given a Sh50,000 cheque to help them start and enhance businesses.
Speaking in Kitale yesterday while issuing the cheques, Mabonga called on unemployed youth to form or join existing groups to help them access loans from the youth fund. “Let me reiterate the need for the youth to join groups to help them access the loans. The money is uplifting livelihoods of those who have been applying,” Mabonga said. He said youth who had applied for the funds are repaying their loans. He said upon successful repayment of the loan, the youth are eligible for another loan.
