I am up to the task, Obure says
KISII senator Chris Obure has said that he will serve residents following Monday's court ruling. He said the petition challenging his March 4 victory had given him sleepless nights.
Obure said he done very little over the past five months bebacuse he focussed attention on the petition. “I am now relieved and will now fully dedicate my time in serving the people,” he said.
Obure said the court’s decision has given him an opportunity to set up a coordination office in Kisii to serve his people. “I was unable to set my own office because I did not know the outcome of the suit," he said.
On Monday, Justice Ruth Sitati dismissed a petition filed by PDP chief agent Charles Oigara challenging Obure’s win. Sitati ruled that the March 4 polls were conducted within the IEBC regulations.
