Traders get one year in jail for fraud
Two businessmen have been each sentenced to one year imprisonment by a Nairobi court for forging Power of Attorney for parcel of land worth more than Sh100 million.
Joseph Mureithi Kanyita and Micheal Mwangi Ngugi were given an alternative of fines of Sh500,000 and Sh300,000 respectively. Magistrate E Nduva revoked the title deed used by the two to transact the sale of the property belonging to Moses Wachira, who is based at the United States.
This followed an application by the court prosecutor, who requested that the title deed be cancelled. Mureithi had been charged with forging a transfer of lease document for the land.
