Police hunt for suspect
Police in Bomet are hunting for a man suspected to be behind a motorcycle theft syndicate in the area. Bomet police boss George Losku Ali said the suspect last week managed to elude members of the public, who had raided to his house over the theft and sale of motorcycles in Bomet town and its surrounding.
Ali said more than 50 boda boda riders stormed the house of the suspect in Chepalungu following a tip off from his neighbours that he was selling parts of motorcycles suspected to have been stolen. He said several parts of dismantle motorcycles believed to have been stolen were recovered from the suspect's house.
Ali has urged members of the public to volunteer information to help in the arrest of the suspect saying the arrest will bring to an end the theft of motorcycles in the area. "Several motorcycles spare parts recovered from the house of the suspect are now with us and we are hunting down the suspect and his group that has been stealing from the members of the public and selling them in the neighbouring Sotik and Kisii," said the police boss.
