NCCK on South Rift security
THE National Council of Churches of Kenya has called upon the government to revamp security machinery in the South Rift region. Speaking during the South Rift Regional conference in Nakuru yesterday, the Church leaders condemned the rising cases of insecurity that are being reported in the region. “It is a sad reality that cases of people being attacked, robbed and even killed by gangsters are on the rise. It is our considered opinion that a key factor that has facilitated the spread of the crime is complacency and even involvement by some police officers,” said Right Rev Jackson ole Sapit, the NCCK regional chairman.
