Rapist’s plea for leniency rejected
A man who raped a middle-aged woman from Maduwa village in Nambale district more than a month ago has pleaded for leniency. The man, who is currently admitted at Bungoma District Hospital, sent his relatives to Nambale to plead with the victim to forgive him but the woman declined to accept the plea.
Sources claimed that after the woman was raped early last month, she sought the help of a witchdoctor from Bunyala who treated her and assured her that the rapist will be known in a week's time. The man, who is a resident of Nambale town, is said to have started feeling unwell, a situation that forced his relatives to rush him to Bungoma for treatment. It is from here that he was identified.
