Police ends western tour on high after stunning Simba

Kenya Police ended their western tour on a high when they beat former league champions and hosts Kisumu Simba 2-1 in the Kenya hockey Premier League. The win came 24 hours after they beat Western Jaguars 1-0 in Kakamega. Oliver Etenje scored the two goals for Police in Kisumu. Despite the loss, Simba are placed fourth with nine points whie Police are fifth with nine points from five matches. In the women’s league, Multimedia University tough run in the league continued when they conceded 12 goals in two matches.

They first suffered a humiliating 9-0 defeat at the hands of Strathmore University before falling 3-0 to USIU ‘A’. Lilian Aura scored four goals for the second placed Strathmore while Regina Wanjiku and Laura Gichau scored a brace. Leah Njeri added a goal. On Sunday, Pauline Naise, Ruth Gacui and Stephanie Mwega scored a goal each as USIU ‘A’ registered their second win. In Mombasa, Knight Barasa and Joan Chemtai led Kenyatta University to a 2-0 win over hosts Mombasa Sports Club. Kenyatta are placed fourth with eight points from six matches while MSC are eighth with no point from three matches.
