Boda boda operators in Nakuru get licences
NAKURU town MP Lee Kinyanjui has issued interim licenses to more than 100 motor cycle operators in Nakuru county. He issued the licenses at Mitimingi, in Giligil over the weekend. The operators have undergone a month's training. They had been arrested for operating without valid documents. “When one hires a boda boda he or she expects to reach their destination safely and that is why we are encouraging all to undergo training on road safety,” said the MP.
“Motorbikes came to create jobs for our youth but this does not mean that the profession becomes a final destiny to their lives,” Kinyanjui said. The MP also donated Sh60,000 for installation of a milk cooler. “The county is endowed with many economic potentials and farming is one of the sectors to benefit from value addition ventures,’ said the roads assistant Minister.
