Mother disappears with her baby from Nyahururu home
A woman has disappeared from her home in Nyandarua Central week ago. David Kibunja said his 29-year-old wife, Nancy Njeri, disappeared last on Sunday June 17. Kibunja said she left home with their two-month-old baby Marion Wangu while other members of the family were in church. Kibunja said his wife of ten years had told their children and her mother-in-law that she would commit suicide one day.
First born Valentine Nyambura, 9, said her mother had previously talked about suicide and warned them not to tell their father. Njeri’s mother-in-law Anne Njoki Gatei who was with her for last moment told how they had a nice conversation over a cup of tea. “I left to take a shower and left Njeri suckling her baby. I then returned and we continued chatting. She then left unnoticed,” she said. Njoki said she suspected that her daughter had left for the church but got a rude shock later in the day when her two children asked the whereabouts of their mother. It was then that it was discovered she had disappeared prompting a frantic search.
However, efforts by the family members, relatives and neighbor’s search for her are yet to bare fruits. The family said they have searched for her body in the nearby forests, mortuaries in Ol-Kalou and Nyahururu district hospitals and from other friends have been unsuccessful. They are now appealing to anyone to assist in her search and or report to the nearby police station for help.
