Embu man dies after night of drinking

A 47-year-old man died after consuming a traditional brew on Wednesday night at Shauri slums in Embu. Peter Kariuki was found dead yesterday morning. Residents said Kariuki spent the night drinking with friends at the slums. Embu police boss Gasper Makau said the body had no physical injuries and thus it was immediately difficult to establish the cause of his death. He said the police had started investigations into the incident. Makau said the identification documents found on Kariuki showed that he was from Embu North district. He said the body was moved to the Embu Provincial General Hospital mortuary for preservation.
