Taita will be investo friendly- governor

Taita Taveta governor-elect John Mruttu will ensure an investor friendly environment.Speaking to hundreds of businesspeople at Shasha Camp hotel in Mwatate, Mruttu said his government was committed to working with business people to improve the county's economy.

He said he will set up a County Economic and Social Council that will draw its members from the business leaders in the county."The council will be charged with ensuring all decisions reached in my government incorporate the business fraternity," he said.

Mruttu challenged business people to pay revenue to enable the county government provide good services.

"We expect you to pay revenue to enable us give the services you need.Let's not spend a lot of time challenging the rates,'' he said.

Mruttu was flanked by deputy governor Mary Ndigha,Wundanyi MP elect Thomas Mwadeghu,Voi MP elect Jonnes Mlolwa,Mwatate MP elect Andrew Mwadime,National assembly women representative-elect Joyce Lay,county assembly speaker Meshack Maghanga and the 20 elected county assembly members.

"Most of our youth are not employed and have been challenging us to provide employment opportunities for them. We call on business people to help us provide business opportunities," he said.
