The inaugural Standard Chartered sponsored ‘Road to Anfield” seven-aside tournament ended over the weekend with Pan African Life defeating Moi Air Base 2-0 in a penalty shoot out at Impala grounds.

The team will represent Kenya in a special tournament at Liverpool’s Anfield grounds mid this year. Kenya is among the 10 countries worldwide invited for the show with Nigeria, the only other African team to participate in the annual tournament.

Dennis Korir and Willis Nalwenge converted post match penalties after a goal-less draw to earn Pan African the ticket to watch Liverpool’s last English Premier League match of the season against QPR.

They will also take part in the Grand Finale of the 5x5 tournament to be held at Anfield in June and also benefit from a professional training session with Liverpool FC legends and coaches to help them prepare for the final tournament.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) secretary general, Michael Esakwa, handed over the trophy and a dummy ticket to the winning team. The winners’ goalkeeper Nelson Kabau was named the Most Valuable Player while Isaac Ongoma from Mabati Rolling Mills (MRM) emerged the top scorer with five goals.
