A 20-year-old man yesterday drowned in River Yala when a foot bridge he was constructing collapsed at Bar-Kokwiri village,  in Bondo district.   Benjamin Ooko Omondi's three colleagues swam to the bank. Efforts by villagers and the police to retrieve the body have been futile given that the river is crocodile infested. Bondo  police chief Patrick Mangoli said they have contacted experts from Gumba Construction Company, Omondi's employer, to help clear the wreckage and aid in the search for the body.
