Man linked to murder

A 25 year old man has been arrested on suspicion he murdered his 70 year old grandfather. According to Leonard Kimaiyo, the suspect has been locked up at Wang’uru police station for more investigations. The deputy police boss said that the suspect got a hint that his grandfather was selling his piece of land and got angry with him. He said that upon asked why his grandfather was still alive and yet he did not divide his shamba amongst his grandchildren.

Kimaiyo went on to say that the young man became angry with the grandi and went straight in his mother’s kitchen where he came out with a knife. Kimaiyo added that at the moment of his return he found the grandi had already moved to his shamba where he went calling out his name and when he saw him, a confrontation ensued and that is when the suspect hit him with a blunt object at the back of the head and stabbed him on the chest with a knife before fleeing. The police boss went on to say that acting on a tip off from the public they were able to arrest him from his hiding. Kimaiyo said that he will be taken to court tomorrow to face murder charges.
